Why a vending massage chair and not a “regular” massage chair with a coin slot or terminal?

A vending massage chair has to do more than a conventional massage chair.

Above all, it is used by many people with very different builds: tall and short, slim and heavier-set.

It also has to run continuously and handle many massage cycles back to back with hardly any breaks.

Because so many different people use it, operation has to be very simple. Anyone should be able to start a massage without difficulty.

The Momento model meets every requirement the vending business places on a massage chair.

It offers enough room for tall and heavily built people while also suiting petite or shorter users.

The closed side panels provide privacy during the massage. The user is screened off and can enjoy the massage in a pleasant, sheltered atmosphere.

The upholstery is made of a durable, dirt-repellent material that looks high-quality and feels pleasant to the touch. Clean the surfaces (seat and housing) with a soft, damp cloth without harsh cleaning agents. If necessary, you can wipe them with a surface disinfectant suitable for the material.

The chair is designed for continuous operation and does not require regular maintenance intervals. We agree the warranty terms with you individually, based on your needs, intensity of use and location. The device also meets the safety requirements applicable to the product.

The Momento is easy to use. The user selects a full-body massage or a neck and shoulder massage. Compression on the calves and forearms can be adjusted in three levels. The massage can be paused or stopped at any time.

The device works with a card terminal and a coin acceptor simultaneously, or with just one of the two systems. It also has a solution for people who occupy the chair without paying for a massage.

Smart Seat system: protection against seat-hogging

In shopping centres, adults or children often sit in massage chairs without buying a massage. They block the seat for paying customers and eat into your revenue.

A commercial massage chair should be prepared for situations like this.

The Momento uses a voice prompt to invite the person to book a massage or free up the chair. If the person does not respond, the chair slowly tilts the seat forward until they leave. This prevents the chair from being occupied indefinitely without payment.

Cashless payment and telemetry: what does the Nayax system bring to a vending massage chair?

The Nayax system turns the massage chair into a largely automated, remotely managed vending solution. The biggest advantages are comprehensive telemetry and remote management of the chair’s parameters via the Nayax Core portal or the MoMa mobile app. You can conveniently manage many settings remotely.

Via the portal, you can set:

• Massage price and duration: change prices flexibly and adjust your offer instantly.
• Payment methods: enable or disable individual payment methods, such as contactless cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay or prepaid cards like employee cards.
• Discount codes and loyalty promotions: create single-use or multi-use discount codes.
• Alerts and notifications: get notified of power outages, faults or vandalism, for example.

The Nayax system gives you, as the operator, flexible management of the card terminal for the massage chair and of your entire offer.

Power consumption of the Momento commercial massage chair

The Momento has a power consumption of approximately 110 W. That is roughly the same as a conventional light bulb or a small LED TV.

This means the Momento’s operating costs are very low.

At an average electricity price in Germany of around €0.37 per kWh (gross, including grid fees, taxes and levies), a 10-minute massage cycle costs only about 0.7 cents (approx. €0.007).

To use 1 kWh (approx. €0.37), the chair would have to run non-stop for around 9.1 hours. That corresponds to around 54 massage cycles of 10 minutes each.

In standby with telemetry active, the chair uses about 2 W. A day in standby therefore costs around 1.8 cents, and a full month in standby mode about €0.53.
